The Building and Construction Authority is hoping to make more inroads for Singapore's construction-linked firms in India.

Under a memorandum of cooperation signed on Tuesday, both the BCA and its Indian counterpart will encourage the sharing of information on infrastructure projects in Singapore and India.

They will also promote networking between the construction industries which in turn can lead to joint ventures between firms of both countries.

The signing of the MoC was witnessed by the Minister of State for Defence and National Development, Cedric Foo, in New Delhi.

The memorandum also aims to develop the human resource skills of both countries through sharing of experiences and the adoption of best practices.

The two agencies will work together to market BCA's rating standard for buildings, CONQUAS, for adoption by the Indian construction industry. - CNA
