Singapore outfit offers fast-track degrees

Chennai, Feb 22. (PTI): A Singapore government-linked institution, PSB Academy, has decided to launch, for the first time, a series of 'fast-track' degree programmes for Indian students from July this year.

"In association with its long-standing partner, the University of Newcastle in Australia, the PSB (Productivity and Standards Board) Academy will offer BE Electrical and Mechanical, Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, Bachelor of Business Management, marketing, and B Com in Finance and Financial Accounting," Dora Ng, Vice-President of the Academy, told a news conference here on Monday evening.

Targetted at tenth and plus two students, Dora said these new three-year programmes would give Indian students an opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised degree in Singapore.

Dora said with more than 30 years of experience in education and training, the Academy admits nearly 25,000 students from 18 different countries annually. Till date, it had educated nearly five lakh students.

The PSB academy is also planning to offer three-year fast-track American Business Administration degree in association with California State University, Long Beach, USA and dual specialisation diplomas in hospitality and tourism discipline this year.
