India's Mphasis Mulls Second Listing Here
Business Times, Singapore, 01 September 2004

Mphasis BFL Ltd. (526299.BY), an Indian information technology company, is considering a secondary listing in Singapore, the Business Times reports.

The Mumbai-listed company has already received shareholder approval to list abroad and is looking at London and New York as well, the newspaper says, citing Mphasis Chief Executive Jerry Rao.

"It's early yet, but we are certainly enthusiastic about Singapore as a place for business," Rao said.

Singapore bourse operator Singapore Exchange Ltd. (S68.SG) has been working to attract Indian companies to list here.

In early August, pigment and pesticide maker Meghmani Organics Ltd. (M30.SG) became the first Indian company to list in the city-state.
