MS appoints eSys as distributor

NEW DELHI: Microsoft Corporation India has announced the appointment of eSys, the Singapore - based IT Component Distribution Company, as a nation wide distributor for products targeted at the System Builder market in India.

Following the new partnership, eSys will distribute Microsoft's Windows XP Operating Systems (Windows XP Home & Pro), Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Small Business Server 2003, to the System Builder segment.

eSys will align with Microsoft India's geograhical expansion initiatives and partner with Microsoft India to increase the breadth and frequency of the system builder market addressed by Microsoft India. They are emerging as a key player in the components distribution market in India, and are expected to bring new partners, as well as increase the overall footprint of Microsoft's product distribution in India.

In India, Microsoft has a two-tier channel model. At the first tier are the distributors who in turn cater to the needs of the broad channel community (Comprising Resellers and System Builders) which constitutes the second tier. Microsoft reaches out to its 2000+ strong reseller community through 3 prime distributors - Redington, Tech Pacific and Ingram Micro and the 3000+ strong System Builder community through Redington, Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro and ACI Infocom.
