BANGALORE, India: Dexcel, a design services firm based here, will form a holding company in Singapore and convert itself into a subsidiary of the new company. The Singapore parent will then carry out marketing and sales efforts for the Indian subsidiary.

"The reason for having a parent company in Singapore is that international customers feel more secure if the company is based there. This gives us a more multi-national image and will secure more design projects for us as so many global companies have offices there," said Amit Sinha, CEO, Dexcel Electronics Designs Ltd.

The company is applying for an electronics hardware technology park license to handle prototyping for customers who may want Dexcel to produce their designs. If customers wish, Dexcel will also outsource the manufacturing on their behalf, Sinha said.

Dexcel is upgrading 'DesignFlex', its single-board computer prototype. to a market version and readying a next-generation network analyzer.
